Aren't we all looking for some place new and different to dine? I remember as a child when my parents celebrated their anniversary the places they would go included "chains" like Steak & Ale and Red Lobster. But thankfully today, there are SO many places to choose from and you don't have to head into the big city to find them!
Seasons 52 is in The Shops of Legacy in Plano. It's a quick 10 minute trip down the newly updated 121 from McKinney. This restaurant has a really cool concept. Nothing on the menu is over 475 calories and the menu changes seasonally to utilize foods that are available from the local farmer's market.
Now, I know what your thinking...
How good can the food be if nothing on the menu is over 475 calories? Let me just say...the food is fantastic! They use natural cooking techniques such as wood-fire grilling, brick-oven cooking and caramelizing vegetables to let the natural flavors come out.
And sit down for this...THERE ARE NO FRYERS IN THE BUILDING!!
And isn't this what people are looking for in this day and age? Healthy, Chic alternatives.
I enjoyed the BBQ Chicken Salad which features organic greens, spinach, corn, roasted peppers, pumpkin seeds and crumbled blue cheese. OH MY GOODNESS is was to die for.
Now, others in my party were more adventurous than I was. One friend enjoyed Black Mussels steamed in a zesty marinara sauce served with grilled garlic toast.
And another enjoyed Tamarind Turkey Tenderloin Skewer with caramelized vegetables and mushrooms over warm orzo salad.
But they also have salmon, fillet Mignon, quail, shrimp, scallops and the list goes on. Aside from the entrees they also have a bar that features some amazing drinks such as Martinis, Cosmopolitans, Cognacs & Brandies and a Master Sommelier to help you pick just the right wine to compliment your meal. You can also enjoy live music in the bar area! And I believe they even take requests! A little John Mayer, anyone?
If you're looking for something new, fun and close by you need to check it out. It's becoming really popular so make sure to call and get your reservation for Valentine's Day NOW! Your skinny jeans will thank you!
